Michigan Ballet Academy provides world class ballet training using a codified curriculum taught by professionally trained faculty, in an atmosphere of creativity, challenge, encouragement, and integrity. MBA's pedagogy uniquely combines the rigor of Russian ballet, the romantic lyricism of French ballet, and the athleticism of Italian ballet, drawing students from across West Michigan.
MBA offers a full pathway — Creative Movement for ages 3 and up, Pre-Ballet for ages 5-8, and a real Pre-Professional Division — alongside Deos Contemporary Ballet, the academy's resident performing company. MBA's annual Nutcracker draws more than 2,000 attendees, and recent spring productions have included Cinderella, Coppélia, and La Fille mal Gardée. The academy is supported by the Michigan Arts and Culture Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
