Tari's School of Dance has served the Baton Rouge area for nearly 40 years, opened in 1987 by Owner and Director Tari Smith-Trosclair with 50 students. Tari, who holds an MBA from LSU, grew the school to over 500 students and a faculty of 13 teachers, offering ballet, contemporary, hip hop, jazz, pointe, tap, and acro for dancers ages 3 through advanced levels.
Tari's Pre-Professional Ballet Program, led by Director Ivy Delk, has seen dancers accepted into highly selective summer intensives at Houston Ballet and the School of American Ballet — the official school of New York City Ballet. Tari has earned numerous national and regional choreography awards, and her students have performed for the Baton Rouge Cancer Ball, the Krewe of Achilles Mardi Gras Ball, and in Debbie Allen productions throughout Baton Rouge.
