Studio 1 Dance Academy brings highly sought-after instructors and choreographers from the LA area to their state-of-the-art facility in Santa Clarita. They implement a training program designed to transform dancers of any level into superior dancers. The studio emphasizes creating a drama-free environment and building a welcoming dance family where lasting memories are made.
Studio 1 was voted Best of Santa Clarita Valley, and its instructors bring real industry credentials to the classroom — including work with Talia Favia, Mandy Moore, and Debbie Allen, as well as credits on So You Think You Can Dance, World of Dance, and NBC's This Is Us.

Our Faculty
Studio 1 Dance Academy is led by Director Jan Frishette, who has run the studio since 1990 and built a faculty of working industry professionals. The team includes Courtney Schwartz, assistant to renowned choreographer Talia Favia and a demonstrator for Radix Dance Convention; Eva Igo, a 2nd-place finalist on NBC's World of Dance; and Mandy Dray, a Chapman University BFA graduate who has performed with StepOne Dance Company. Several faculty members are Studio 1 alumni themselves, including Juliet Frishette and Macey Harbo, who trained at the studio from a young age and returned to teach the next generation. This blend of real professional experience and homegrown dedication gives Studio 1 dancers instruction shaped by working artists at every level.
