About this studio
Dance Lab OC is a boutique dance studio in Irvine offering individualized training with genuinely small class sizes — allowing more personal attention, more dancing and less standing around, and one-on-one corrections for every student. Owned by Joyce Lee and overseen by Creative Director Laura Russom, DLOC offers contemporary, acro, ballet, pre-pointe, pointe, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, tumbling, progressions, and jazz funk for dancers of every level, alongside a real Competition Team and Petite Team for younger dancers.
DLOC's teaching approach is hands-on — instructors dance alongside students and actively participate in every class, building real relationships and helping each dancer grow individually and as part of a team.

Our Faculty
Dance Lab OC's faculty includes an extraordinary concentration of professional pedigree for a boutique studio, led by Creative Director Laura Russom. The team includes Sandrine Mattei, a former Cirque du Soleil principal in "LOVE" and "MYSTÈRE" who has performed alongside Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, and Sophia Lucia, a Guinness World Record holder and widely recognized dance competition television alumna. This rare level of professional experience gives DLOC dancers access to instruction few boutique studios anywhere can match.
