Welcome to the Dance Studio List!
In a dance landscape brimming with hundreds of thousands of dance studios, we understand the challenges of finding the best dance studio near you. That’s why we’ve curated a selection of today’s top 500 best competition dance studios from across the country. We make it easy for dancers to compare dance studios along key dimensions: dance styles, awards, special programs, and training rigor. We also help dance studios raise their visibility and showcase their excellence on both a local and national scale.
Why We Built This
My dance journey began at the age of 8 in Los Angeles, where I started at a competition dance studio before transitioning to a pre-professional one as I grew older. Upon moving to Boston for high school, I was eager to continue my dance education at a pre-professional studio. However, my search for “dance studios near me” yielded a mixed bag – from Mommy & Me Classes to Adult Salsa and Pole Dancing. Trying a different approach, I turned to the websites of dance competitions I had attended in LA – such as NYCDA, Jump, WCDE, and 24Seven – to identify studios that competed and performed well. From there, I had a pretty good-sized list of the best studios in the New England area. But why stop there? A million hours later (or at least what felt like a million), here’s my list!
Methodology for Determining the Best Dance Studios
- “Top Competition” badges: Reflect studios that have won awards at select Regional and National non-leveled competitions in the last 2 years and offer diverse and rigorous pre-professional training programs.
- “Top Training” badges: Reflect studios that have won awards at select Regional non-leveled competitions in the last 2 years and offer diverse and rigorous pre-professional training programs.
- “National Awards” badges: Include special awards at select non-leveled National competitions in the last year.
- “Top Reviewed” badges: Coming soon! Will reflect studios whose dancers rate them as “Excellent.” Studios can earn this badge by clicking here and sending this survey link to parents and dancers.
