At Under the Spotlight Dance Company, we believe great dancers are built long before they ever step onto a competition stage. Every class is intentionally designed to develop strong technique, confidence, discipline, and a genuine love for dance.
Our studio welcomes dancers as young as preschool through high school, offering both recreational and competitive programs in an environment where every child is known by name. Whether a dancer dreams of performing for fun or pursuing more advanced opportunities, we meet them where they are and help them grow at their own pace.
As a small studio, relationships matter here. Parents aren’t just another number, and dancers aren’t expected to fit into a mold. We believe in honest communication, age-appropriate expectations, and creating opportunities for every dancer to experience success.
While our competitive program is selective and technique-driven, our focus has never been collecting trophies. Our greatest accomplishments are watching shy dancers find confidence, teaching resilience through challenges, and helping young people discover what they’re capable of both inside and outside the studio.

Our instructors share one common goal: helping every dancer become the strongest version of themselves.
Classes are structured, encouraging, and intentionally progressive so dancers continue building on their skills throughout the season instead of simply learning routines. We believe great teaching comes from preparation, consistency, and truly knowing each child.
Our staff works together to create a positive atmosphere where dancers feel challenged, supported, and celebrated. We continue learning ourselves through ongoing education, fresh choreography, and current training methods to ensure our students receive quality instruction every season.
Above all, our faculty leads with integrity. We celebrate hard work, kindness, accountability, and teamwork because we know those lessons last far beyond recital day.
Notable Alumni
While we’re proud of every award our dancers have earned over the years, we’re even prouder of who they become after leaving our studio.
USDC alumni have gone on to dance in college programs, teach the next generation of dancers, choreograph, perform, and become leaders in their schools and communities. Many return to mentor younger dancers or assist in our classrooms, continuing the culture that helped shape them.
Success looks different for every student. Sometimes it’s earning a scholarship. Sometimes it’s making a college dance team. Sometimes it’s simply leaving our studio with confidence, lifelong friendships, and the courage to chase big dreams.
